It is my 70Th birthday today and open forum, if it is an open forum when I hit 80, I may post again!
I am going to Ramble a bit today but I finished checking out the new version of the guitar builder and it is ready to go. It has the new models and the Alnico versions. I wanted to elaborate a bit about what this forum means to me. I wish I had know about it sooner. I first found it less than 5 years ago and laid in the weeds for some time before I finally posted. It was a bit different at that time and seemed to be a group of friendly guys sharing a bond through the product. The formant has changed, a lot of the old members are no longer here but we always have new members joining us and talking about the product. This is what most of us did, a good way to find out new information and I am a member of several forums, lurk on most of them but this is the one that I truly enjoy. It is a forum for us as long as we follow the guidelines and everyone is most respectful. The interesting things on this forum are supplied by the members other than the G&L announcement which Craig takes care of. I did a little research this week on the hits for different topics and as always, the forum guidelines are well read. The lunch reports are also popular. There are posts that are how too's by members of the forum and some of those are heavy hitters from a research aspect. I was surprised to see the number of hits that the G&L Guitar Builder has had. It is a big hitter and appears to be enjoyed by many of us including me. Again, this was posted by one of us. I have realized that this is truly our forum and I really enjoy it. There are so many people who are really experts in one thing or another and I know that a question will get answered, and all one has to do is ask and no one has ever made me feel stupid for asking anything. Craig had been extremely resourceful in interfacing with the factory on issues that would have been difficult to resolve. In the end, that is what this forum means to me, I truly enjoy it.
In my 5 years to G&L exposure I am still amazed at some of the new ones that I am seeing. We are still seeing real wood bodies, fretboards and even some cool new woods. So rather than ramble any more I want to thank Dave, (Darth) the G&L crew for the innovation they have shown us, Craig for helping us, and I want to express my appreciation to Cory and Tim at AGB for being such a wonderful dealer. I am done and going to settle in for a couple of cold one. Maybe an extra or two if someone gives me permission! Boy life is good!:happy0007: Darwin-- Just a bit older and hopefully wiser.
